The ERC approach to hydrogen

With the amendment to the Climate Protection Act, the German government has set a target of greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045. To achieve this goal, a significant expansion of facilities for converting and storing renewable energies is planned. One promising energy storage medium is green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable energies such as wind or solar power by means of electrolysis.

Green hydrogen offers the possibility of storing surplus electricity and releasing it when needed, which facilitates the integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid. In addition, hydrogen can replace fossil fuels in industry and transport, thus making a significant contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions.
