ERC Flow Guard is an ash-free burning flow improver for the winter use of heating oil, which is also effective in heating oil with up to 20 % bio content.

The Effect

Although heating oil is fairly winter-proof, when it gets very cold the paraffins it contains can precipitate and clump together. As a result, they clog fuel lines and filters, causing the heating system to stop running properly or even fail. Flow Guard, an ash-free burning flow improver, counteracts this. The additive keeps the paraffin crystals small, making the heating oil flowable and filterable. The CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point) is reduced by up to 10 minus degrees, depending on the quality of the heating oil. Application before the start of winter is recommended for all DIN heating oils and bio heating oil. ERC Flow Guard can be used in yellow burners, blue burners, tray burners (oil furnaces) and pre-evaporators.

The Result

ERC Flow Guard contains so-called nucleating agents, which provide a surplus of condensation nuclei in the cooling paraffin. This results in the formation of many small wax crystals instead of a few large ones. The tiny wax crystals can easily pass through pipes and filters without causing blockages. In addition, a surface limiter encases the paraffin crystals and keeps them in suspension. This also prevents larger clumps from forming later on. ERC Flow Guard extends the flowability range of the heating oil by up to 10 degrees below zero, depending on its quality, and improves operational safety and environmental compatibility.
